Across the span of two days the Bell lab group has had multiple exciting visitors and events. Firstly, Markus Sauer, whom we have collaborated with in the past in order to establish super-resolution microscopy in Australia, graced us with his presence once again and gave an inspiring seminar to the Monash Chemistry Society . The very next day, Hiroshi Uji-i, a postdoc peer of Toby's from his time at KU Leuven, and now a group leader in his own right, also came to check out the lab and present his research to the School of Chemistry. Finishing up her postdoctoral fellowship in New York on Tuesday, lab alumna Donna Whelan somehow managed to rejoin the Bell labs Thursday morning and didn't let the jetlag stop her from enjoy both of these great talks. Bell and Funston lab members hosted Hiroshi Ujii, his colleague from Sapporo, Tomoko Inose, Markus Sauer and his wife out for dinner on the Friday night to talk even more science!
Welcome back to the lab Donna! What an exciting week to return!
